Privacy Policy

Thren Education, Inc. ("Thren," "we," "us") runs the certificate programs and learning platform available at this site and at our learner app. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect from you, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to the practices described here.

What we collect

We collect only the information we need to run the platform. That includes:

• Account information — your name and email address, supplied when you sign up.
• Learning progress — the courses you enroll in, lessons you complete, quiz answers, sandbox submissions, and the certificates you earn.
• Payment metadata — we use Stripe to process payments. Stripe holds your card number; we only store a customer ID, the last four digits, and the status of your subscription or one-time purchase.
• Technical data — IP address, browser user-agent, device type, and pages visited. We use this to keep the site working, detect abuse, and measure aggregate traffic patterns.
• Support correspondence — the content of any email you send to hello@thren.ai.

How we use it

We use your information to:

• Operate the platform — serve lessons, track progress, grade quizzes, issue certificates.
• Send transactional email such as receipts, password resets, certificate notifications, and replies to support requests.
• Send product email (cohort openings, new programs) which you can unsubscribe from at any time using the link in the footer of every message.
• Detect abuse, debug errors, and improve the product. Aggregate analytics tell us which lessons are confusing or broken.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not run third-party ad networks on the site, and we do not share your learning data with advertisers.

Who we share with

We share the minimum personal information needed to operate the service with a small number of trusted subprocessors:

• Microsoft Azure — hosts our website, learner app, application data, and operational logs.
• Azure Application Insights — receives anonymized page-view and event telemetry for product analytics.
• Stripe — processes payments and stores card details.
• Email delivery providers — deliver transactional and product email.

We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect Thren, our users, or the public from fraud, abuse, or safety threats.

Retention

We keep your account and learning records for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account, we erase the associated personal information within thirty (30) days, except for records we are legally required to retain (for example, payment records held for tax purposes). Backups expire on a rolling ninety-day cycle.

Your rights

Regardless of where you live, you can:

• Access & export — request a copy of your account data in machine-readable form.
• Correct — update your name, email, or other profile fields at any time from your account settings.
• Delete — permanently delete your account and associated data.
• Object or restrict — ask us to stop processing your information for non-essential purposes.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@thren.ai from the address on your account. We respond within thirty (30) days.

Security

We use TLS in transit, encrypted storage at rest, role-scoped access for staff, and short-lived session tokens. No system is bulletproof, but we treat your data the way we would want ours treated.

Children

Thren is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove the account.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy we will notify active account holders by email at least seven (7) days before the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
